A community screening is a great way to connect with your school community, neighborhood, civic organization, professional network, or friend group to spark conversations and empower individuals to take action on the themes of the film.

Please note that you can also screen the film privately to your staff, faculty, or membership.

“Counted Out” is 91 minutes long. We recommend setting aside an additional 30 to 60 minutes for a facilitated discussion following the screening.

Yes! If your community requires it, we can provide closed captions and/or Spanish subtitles to ensure accessibility for all attendees at your screening.

While the film is not rated by the MPAA, it is suitable for audiences of all ages. The content is accessible and thoughtfully presented, making it a valuable experience for viewers from young students to adults.

Any space equipped with a projector, a screen, and seating for your audience is ideal for screening our film. We encourage you to think broadly about potential venues—libraries, dining halls, conference rooms, event spaces, auditoriums, media centers, movie theaters, churches, classrooms, and even unconventional spaces can all work wonderfully. The key is a comfortable setting where attendees can enjoy the film together.

Any time! You pick the date, and we will provide everything as soon as your application is filled out and payment is received.

Once your screening is booked, we provide the following items. All you need to bring is the audience.

  • Event registration page to use for inviting attendees
  • Film streaming link for a one-time event
  • Facilitation guide
  • Facilitation call with Vicki Abeles, the film’s director and other community leaders hosting screenings to discuss the post-film conversation
  • Promotional materials including posters, flyers, an outreach guide, a press kit, and a social media toolkit

We recommend someone from your community lead the conversation so it can be tailored to the specific topics and issues that are a priority for your community or organization. We provide a facilitation guide and the opportunity to join a facilitator training call to support and prepare your event’s facilitator.

Absolutely. Once screening details are finalized, we are happy to provide 1-2 decision-makers with a one-time use online screener that will be available for a 72-hour window ahead of scheduling your screening event.

All you need to do is fill out a screening application to share the details for your event.

The screening application also includes your film licensing fee and agreement. Once we receive your application and payment, our team will set up your event page and send you all the resources you will need within 1 to 3 business days.

We accept credit card payments, which can be made in the application. We cannot accept checks at this time.

We recommend giving yourself about 15 days of planning time to get organized and promote the event within your community. For some events where there is already a gathering planned that the film can fit into, preparation time can be shorter and is dependent on your community. For a public event, we have found that frequently including event information in newsletters, email blasts, social media posts, and community newspapers can be immensely helpful in drawing a good crowd.

Each license to screen the film is for a single screening. If you plan more than one screening, we will provide custom pricing. Please contact us for more information.

Yes! We’re excited to support deeper engagement through post-film conversations led by the director or influencers featured in the film. If you’re interested in exploring this option, please reach out to us to discuss availability and details, and we’d be happy to help bring this added dimension to your screening event.
